Here is a wonderful tiny kit sculpted by Doid that I knew from FG. While I don't realy have the time to work on my owne sculptures I will spand some little moments working on this one, because it's very small (1/12)!
The kit is very well designed and well sculpted, fine details, grey and uncolored epoxy parts ( the shoulders were already pined by Doid; so nice!) So I will play with it as far as I can, but not to much, I want to respect the original character, fealing and gesture.
I will redefine the details so as to go as far as Doid could have gone if he wouldn't have to cast it! So hang on, let's play, don't eat too much and wash your teeth!

Oh yes Seppun, I remeber when I discovered the Kit on FG, I was stuned by the shape, like some kind of technosimilar stae of mind. I don't realy know what I will do with Berkut, but I'm shure taht she will looks like some kind of high Spiritual Hymenoptera. The Tinker bell crossed with a cybernymphea. And as you can see on those pictures, it's already here!

Every one has noticed the cervical! The kind of deatails taht give to berkut something cold.:>

This new album from Gojira realy suit to Episyron. I realy love this project, it's something that I can't explain. I fell it very deep inside. Plugged with Ama it express all what japanimation gave to me from thirty years...
Theit is actualy very raw, and everthing need to be assimilate, but the essence is here. I will have to create from scratch the dorsal wing, actualy made on paper, I will use plastic card for the first time, time to put into practice wat I learned! From my early youth I'm a great fan of Military aircraft (at this time my favorite were the Eagle, the Phantom, Tomcat, Su-27, Mi-24, the Macchi Veltro and after the B2 and Rafale) , and making a wing like this is realy symbolic for me, and making it on this project is a dopple symbol. (Sky crawlers' fan's Jocke!)

I don't think that I'll going further with the concept. This is already a full design compered to the original that was very effective. And this is realy more difficult to make a design with just a few element, and this is certainly the best way to creat a real good character, with personality and identity. So regarding this point of view, I'm completely out!:P But I don't care, I don't do things by intelectual concern, all is about feelings and clearness world visions. For berkut custom I wasn't shure that using a gun was a good idea. I don't usualy like guns, not because of what it cause, but why it is build for. Guns are just money makers and some lost nations are pooled to use it. (there is not so much weapon manufactures in the world, compared to what the market is) But there is a way where Guns can represent the power of insurection. And here with the berkut stepping we are in this situation. The Episyron are made to destroy Araneae AFV. They are designed for front-line combat by highspeed capabilities (light Deuterium Reactor and Zeta Velocity AI computer) combined with the Maschinengewehr 111 (20 mm Mauser). By this combination of letal capacities , On Battlefield Episyron are usualy called "Terror Spine". Don't be aware of details, there are not good, and this what I will be working on by now. If you have any suggection or comments, feel free to share your words.

I'n can't make up my mind regarding the kit with or without the gun. This two different way to express what Episyron is. Without the gun is more magic and mystic, and with the gun it's more powerfull and inpressive... Mabe I should find a way to adapt easily the gun take off it.
Today I've been working on a new base (it was too heavy for the original one), the motor pack and the "second head". Concerning the second head, I remember Shirow did talk about mutiple eyes on robot (it was about the four Briareossan's eyes) to increase visual capabilities, and in a way he didn't get as far enough. On robot war two heads is the best way to control all perimeters. Two heads means indépendant decisions in focussing on movement. Even if four eyes is better than two, four eyes depends on neck mouvements, and with one head, there is just one neck, so the eyes independance is very limited. Just think about Cerberous. Two heads is realy hard to fox! That's why there is on the Episyron's back, an optronic system that we can consider as a Berkut's second head.

Wow, this is a very fascinating WIP ! I just have been on Doid dA page and I was not suprised at all that you loved his work ! I like the modifications you did as far, so stylish, congrats for insufflating your vision in this already superb sculpt from Doid. I hope that I would be able to do the same one day ! I really prefer this one without the gun. What do you think about a mecha chrysalis ? Like an exploded mecha chrysalis for the base,or wings shaped like chrysalis scraps? There are so many directions to go with this GK that's hard to limit yourself ! But i really prefer the ethereal direction ,an etherical hymenoptera dronenymph like you've said, is perfect in my opinion. The choice for the gun will mainly depend on the wings and body textures,that said,this project is really thrilling !

@Seppun: Thank you for talking about that, you understood what was my bigest headache on this project. Yes without the gun it's realy good as we can see on those last pictures, on the first four. But the fact is that today (I don't mean this particulary day, but from the past years and years to come); I realy fell like wearing a gun... I was listening to Gojira, I was thinking about what we do to the Earth, living species, forest, and yes we need a global destruction.
In the beginning the project was to make a cybernymph, but now I realy feel her to wear a gun, a big gun, because she's a war machine. This is in her name from the beginning, she's a killer of heavy motorized weapons.
But I will find a way to make the gun removable.
I'm actualy working on the head, the legs, and the dorsal wings carrier arm, to adjust the two wings position: deployed and closed. @Doid: I just made her chin bigger, and I changed her face curve, I wanted her to looks like older because of the nymph stepping. I hope you like it!:>

I must agree With Sep on that one. It looks like the gun comes out of nowhere and breaks a little the dynamic of the figure. Her arms doesn't seem to be made to handle.
About the background, in every war, past, present or post apo, you need more than guins to survive. you need recon, intell, datas, you may need someone agile and discret to sneak around. She can at some point cary a weapon, but I'd imagine something hidden, surprising and less noisy.

Of course you are right, and I had been thinking just like you. There is two Light drones and a FCR (Fire Control Radar) rockets carrier unit to escort her. So I will make it now to feed you, ugly boy!:P
And for the Gun I am competely ok with you, and of course I wont use this one, because it's the EX-S one Certainly one of the most famous gun in all mechas history and I can't touch this, the EX-S is the Holy Graal of all Mechas (for those who are from youth in Robots). I'm designing the berkut's one actualy, but I didn't know how I will make it, because I will have to make it almost completely from scratch...
So thank you Chaos for your hard-nosed comment, this is exactly what we need to keep ourselves on the rignt way! Criticism are our only best friends! (For those who truly want to transcend...)

Call of Kit Black Ops! :P Elle va avoir un genre de rostre au bout du carénage pectoral. J'ai éliminé les détails inutiles, niveau postérieur, j'ai des tofs. Bon je vous préviens j'ai vu qu'il y a des jeunes sculpteurs en herbes dans le territoire qui se sont mis en tête de vendre du kits de niveau CP, pour définitivement annihiler le peu d'espoir qu'il nous reste de voir un jour le GarageKit renaître. donc on passe au level supérieur, on recharge les tankers, on arme les baïonnettes, on baisse les visières et on avance, sept mètres d’intervalle.

Le rostre est devenu une corne, la ligne du carénage pectoral était trop zolie pour que je la transperce!
La corne est en papier pour l'instant. (le papier c'est génial!)
Les ailes arrières sont encore en papier. J'ai mis un pot de Mr Chrystal Color (Mr CC ) pour que ça vous donne une idée plus précise de l'échelle. D’ailleurs je trouve cette échelle vachement bien. Elle n'est pas trop grande et du coup on avance vite!

Bah ouais, elles me sortent pas de la tête... En plus je fais mon projet de BMA en partie sur les chimères, donc bon :3 . Sinon avec la corne (j'allais hurler à la licorne, mais je m'abstiens ) le côté insectoïde s'accentue, mais je crois que c'est le but à en voir le logo...

Idem! J'ai failli changer le nom en licorne, juste pour le plaisir d’utiliser le mot, mais bon, faut arrêter de tout changer à un moment donné. L'idée c'était de rester dans l'insecte oui. Et d'ailleurs je me demande si je vais pas la remettre au niveau du buste en fait.
